NAMI Lex­ing­ton co-spon­sors Par­tic­i­pa­tion Sta­tion (PS) – a Peer Oper­at­ed Sup­port Cen­ter pro­vid­ing edu­ca­tion, out­reach and sup­port, and advo­ca­cy train­ing to indi­vid­u­als in recov­ery with a seri­ous men­tal ill­ness. The mod­el of meet­ing peo­ple where they are and pro­vid­ing peer sup­port in a non-judg­men­tal atmos­phere is work­ing mir­a­cles with the pro­gram par­tic­i­pants. Through a focused approach on com­mu­ni­ty out­reach and provider edu­ca­tion, PS con­tin­ues to grow and serve more individuals.
